Our logo represents our joined communities.
The red chalice with the cross represents the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). Among the values of the Disciples are using the Bible as its only creed and the centrality of communion in worship. Disciples celebrate communion each week, which is the inspiration for our weekly communion.
The blue cross, crown, and orb is the United Church of Christ emblem. The cross represents Christ, while the crown represents our recognition of the reign of Christ. The orb on the bottom is a reference to Acts 1:8 where Jesus says to the disciples:
But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.
The sections of the orb represent Jerusalem, Judea, and Samaria, and the orb represents all the world.
In the center is a green redwood tree to honor the land in which the church stands.
